CROWDED HOUSE at 013 Tilburg – 22.10.2024

It was the return of Crowded House to Tilburg after 32 years. The venue was packed with 3.000 people for their “Gravity Stairs Tour” ( their latest Album title )  at the 013 Theatre in Tilburg.

From the beginning with “Private Universe” it was clear that frontman Neil Finn and his band were in top shape. The chemistry between the band members ( Nick Seymour – bass, and the sons of Neil, Liam -guitar, and Elroy – drums ) was obvious. Mitchel Froom on keyboards and Paul Taylor on percussion completed the line-up and created a rich, full sound.

Their show was a perfect mix of classics and new material. The public sang along enthusiastically during ” Fall at Your Feet” and ” Four Seasons in One Day “. The band changed effortlessly between the ballads and up-tempo songs with ” Black and White Boy ” and ” Locked Out” as highlights.

Neil Finn entertained the public with his dry humor and stories. A nice surprise was the Split Enz song ” Message to My Girl “, the roots of the Finn Brothers. The spontaneous snippet of ” You Sexy Thing” during the beginning of “Mean to Me” was hilarious.

The highlight of the evening was the smash hit ” Don’t Dream It’s Over” turning the theatre into a one big choir.

3 songs as encore, with an emotional version of ” Better Be Home Soon”, were the perfect ending of this concert proving that Crowded House still belongs to the top of Pop Music!

The band showed not to lean only on old success; the new songs were as good and were played with the same passion as their older songs.

Crowded House are still in the game after all these years!
